FAITH COMMUNITY OUTREACH HOMELESS MINISTRIES

Secondary Title

The vision of Faith Community Outreach is to see individuals struggling with homelessness transformed by the grace of Jesus Christ and strengthened in mind, body and spirit. Through discipleship relationships, including Bible studies, we hope to provide encouragement,

as well as physical assistance, to access rehabilitation, and/or housing resources.

Outreach projects are listed below.

SUDS AND DUDS LAUNDRY MINISTRY

We partner with New Hope Resource Center the first through third Saturdays each month to provide free laundry services. Participants must be registered through New Hope to receive this assistance, and background checks are performed to maintain security and safety. Services are offered from 10 AM to noon at Happy Dry Clean and Laundromat at 1423 E. Main Ave. in Puyallup. New Hope Resource Center is located at: 414 Spring Street in Puyallup.

SQUEAKY CLEAN SHOWERS

We partner with New Hope Center to help provide transportaion and hygiene items for participants who are signed up with New Hope each Friday. Round-trip transportation is provided by Faith Covenant volunteers in the afternoon to the Puyallup Recreation Center using church transportation.

FRIENDSHIP FACTOR (MENTORING)

The Friendship Factor provides for one-to-one studies that provide support, encouragement, and discipleship for both women and men attempting to transition out of homelessness. Leaders for these studies are also available to assist participants to access various resources in the community.

FREEZING NIGHTS TEAM

From November through March we send a team of volunteers to assist the Freezing Nights program, a temporary shelter program housed in local churches on nights when temperatures drop. Our team assists one time per month in the evening.
